PLC Controls Engineer
What Youll Do
We are currently seeking an engineer to work as a PLC Controls Engineer in the R&D Hardware group. This is a full time, exempt position. You will be working with a team of engineers in both the USA and Sweden to maintain and sustain existing products. The role will focus on maintaining current production machine code that includes but is not limited to: fixing bugs, adding new features, upgrading and deploying new code to existing fleet of machines.
Experience in B&R Automation Studio and Siemens Tia Portal programming environment
Experience with IEC 61131-3 standards (ladder logic is a must, structured text and FBD are a plus)
Experience with object oriented PLC programming
Application development experience in a text-based, high-level language (C, C , C#) is a plus
Advanced motion control programming (camming, blending motion etc.)
Familiarity with controls closed-loop feedback
Industrial Ethernet (PowerLink, Profinet, EtherCAT etc.)
Experience with Git including commit, branching, merging, debugging and related functions for code development and management
Experience using Azure DevOps for code repositories
Familiar with agile approaches to product development
Ability to read electrical schematics
Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues is a plus
Curious with a continuous improvement mindset
Experience with an Engineering Change Process (ECO/ECN) is a plus
Bachelor's degree (BS) from four-year college or university in Mechanical Engineering (ME), Electrical Engineering (EE), Computer Science (CS) or similar
Candidates with associate degree would also be considered
Support machines during production - remote and on-site support
Review existing code and fix bugs and issues raised by the Product team
Support testing by collaborating with our Software and Quality Engineering group
Document findings and share knowledge with team members
Travel to customer locations to resolve technical problems
Up to 15%-20% travel as needed
